Our Story

The Smith Family

It has always been a dream of ours to live in the countryside. When Leaches Farm became available, we knew that we needed to do everything we could to make that dream a reality. With a growing family and a newly established business it wasn't without it's challenges but we DID IT! and we can now officially call Leaches Farm our home.

We are currently living on the farm, restoring the old barn and making it our perfect forever family home, which will become Lower Leaches. The landscape up here is changing all the time - with my husband hard at work on his many mechanical farm toys, making the fields flatter, clearer and better to fully appreciate what this part of the valley has to offer.

The farm itself dates back all the way to the 1600's and has served a long time being a milking farm. Not only was it a working farm, but also a very successful little family run Bed and Breakfast that would cater for guests in 3 static caravans on the grounds. When Leaches became our home we felt that it was really important to keep this little business alive and so we thought of how we could adapt it to the modern ways of today.

We have been settled here for over a year now, getting everything ready and in place to let others enjoy the beauty of what is hidden up here again. Although we love camping as a family, we thought that hidden valley pods needed something a little extra special, therefore we looked into glamping pods. As soon as we saw the models in the factory at Lune Valley Pods, we knew that they were absolutely perfect and just what we were looking for. Our guests could still enjoy the views and feel of 'camping country life' but with a touch of elegance. As a family of 5 ourselves, we also knew that these pods needed to be family friendly, therefore having ample of space for up to 6 guests!

We are a family run business with myself managing the pods. The 2 eldest children help at the weekends maintaining the landscape and keeping it perfectly clean for our guests, while the toddler usually helps me to redo what has just been done! With amazing views from every angle, the valley really is a stunning place to explore and we hope our guests have just as much of an enjoyable time here as we do.
